2018 Minor Pairs
The Minor Pairs final was played between Fay Berry and her skip Heather Starr and the other by Maureen Ellison and her skip Cheryl Mommsen.
In windy conditions, Fay and Heather raced to a 6 shot lead early in the game only for Maureen and Cheryl to play excellent bowls to catch up and level the scores. The scores see-sawed between the 2 teams to 11 all but then Fay and Heather maintained better consistency to take out the game and title 21-13.
Congratulations to all players.

2018 Major Pairs
The Major Pairs final was a much anticipated game between the defending champions Fay Solway and Marg Davies and previous three time winners Maggie Johnston and Lorraine Donney.
The first 5 ends were shot for shot until Maggie and Lorraine stretched their lead to 8 shots by the 12th end.
Reknown for their fighting qualities Fay and Marg fought back to within 2 shots at the 18th end bringing the score to 16-14.
It was still anyone's game as the spectators were treated to very high quality bowls.
Each player played excellent shots trying to give their team the upper hand. The 19th end was spectacular viewing as the skips Marg and Lorraine traded shot for shot endeavouring to win the end.
However, by the 21st end Maggie and Lorraine claimed the game and the title 19-16.
The game showcased wonderful examples of skillful bowls, concentration, correction and consistency played with competitive spirit and oustanding good sportsmanship.
Both teams received a deserved standing ovation at the end of the game.
